Volunteering at the Florida Learning Garden

Hello,

Thank you to the club members who registered for the Florida Learning Garden this Saturday, January 9th (7:00am – 11:00am).

To expedite check-in, attached is our Individual Liability Waiver. Please have this printed and pre-filled out when you check in. If you are under 18 years old, you must have this form pre-filled out by a parent or guardian or they must sign you in.

We’re excited to see you out there!

Below you will find some details regarding the event:

What to bring: We ask that, in the name of conservation, you consider bringing a reusable water bottle to refill. Closed toe shoes are required; clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and sun protection are recommended.

Directions: The Florida Learning Garden is located at the Florida State Fairgrounds. You will find the garden by entering through the Service Entrance. Please carefully follow the directions below. Volunteers tend to get lost when using a GPS, so please only use these written directions.

From Tampa or St. Pete/Clearwater via I-275 to I-4 Eastbound

From I-4 Eastbound only, take Exit #6 for Orient Rd. and turn right off the ramp. There will be a sign for the Fairgrounds Service entrance immediately on the left-hand side. Check in at the Security Guard gate for entry. You will go straight ahead to the stop sign and take a right. Drive 0.2 miles and park on the left in the parking lot.

From Lakeland/Orlando area via I-4 Westbound

Travel on I-4 West toward Tampa to Exit #7 toward US-92 W / Hillsborough Ave. and merge onto E. Hillsborough Ave. Proceed to the light at Orient Road and turn left. There will be a sign for the Fairgrounds Service entrance on the left-hand side. Check in at the Security Guard gate for entry. You will go straight ahead to the stop sign and take a right.
